Drama Centre London presents**
Husbands and Sons
Platform Theatre at Central Saint Martins
4 - 9 July at 2.00pm (Wednesday) and 7.30pm
The final BA Acting Year 3 show - the play Husbands and Sons by D H Lawrence, adapted by Ben Power.
'A magnificent evening of revelatory marvels' The Independent on the original production.
The play is tough look at family life, literally at the coalface of capitalism. The men work in the coal mine, the sons look for ways to escape and the women are tough, resilient and resourceful. The play shows the brutalisation that permeates the system and how it poisons daily life. It's rugged, poetic and mysterious in turns, with flashes of humour and terrible tragedy.
D H Lawrence is one of the greatest writers in the English language and this play represents a magnificent achievement in epic and poetic drama.
