Synopsis:
GSA presents the world premiere of Louis Emmitt-Stern’s bold, witty reimagining of Jane Austen’s classic tale.

Shy and vulnerable Fanny Price is an outsider amongst her rich relatives at Mansfield Park, with only her cousin Edmund by her side. But when the dazzling and magnetic Mary Crawford and her brother Henry arrive from London, their charisma and reckless flirtations captivate everyone – except Fanny. As their seductive charm begins to unravel the fabric of the household, Fanny’s strength of character is pushed to its greatest test.

This contemporary adaptation reimagines Austen’s most theatrical story for the stage, while retaining the spirit and much of the language of the original novel.

Jane Austen drew heavily on her own life experiences in writing Mansfield Park. For this brand new production, former GSA graduate and now rising star playwright Louis Emmitt-Stern has written a version that speaks to young people’s experiences of living in the 21st century.
